Summer 2005

Straja, Romania

This team of 9 worked with VIATA, a program in the Carpathian Mountains, using adventure training to instill values of teamwork, trust, and responsibility in Romania’s youth, offering them the hope of Christ for their communities. The team worked in small groups with VIATA’s Romanian staff, teaching ropes courses, rock climbing and other lessons.

Siguatepeque, Honduras

This team of 8 worked in the highlands of Honduras to serve a Christian Ministry working to bring values of the Gospel to children in schools around Honduras. The team presented the Gospel through puppets, music and stories, opening the door for Union Biblica to have further relations in many schools and day care centers. They also had the opportunity to worship with local youth, and visit families and churches near Siguatepeque.

Jinja, Uganda, Africa

This team of 8 worked with George and Stella Muzaale, community development workers about 1 1/2 hours from Kampala, on the shore of Lake Victoria. They spent time helping in Day Spring school classrooms. They helped with construction of the classrooms of the school as well as outreach and support to homebound aids patients and orphans staying in Jinja. One of the strongest benefits of this experience was, living with the Muzaale family, being led in worship and study by George and Stella.

Kunming, China

The team of 7 did ministry through the teaching of English to English teachers, and built relationships with citizens of a village near Kunming in Southwest China. Kunming is in Yunnan province, a state of broad ethnic diversity, with the highest number of minority groups in all of China.
