Turkey

Project: Impact team worked with our partners in Turkey on the Mediterranean coast in the city and suburbs of Antalya, in a country where 98% of the people are Muslim. This team served under the guidance of established Presbyterian missionaries. The project included working with developmentally disabled youth, ages 8 to 18, through arts and crafts, and miinistering to their mothers who were shunned by the community because of their children. The team also served at Olive Grove, an annual camp for the third culture kids all across Europe.

Antalya , Turkey:

Project: Our partners in Turkey work on the Mediterranean coast in the city and suburbs of Antalya, in a country where 98% of people are Muslim.  In this city of over 1 million people, theer is just one Turkish Protestant Church. There about 150 Christian believers who are members of this church. The goal of this trip was to encourage and serve the Turkish church members, coming alongside them as Christian brothers and sisters, empowering them to be an even greater light in the dark world in which they live. By livng in the homes of local Christian families, team members experienced Turkish culture first-hand and had many opportunities to encourage and serve the Turkish believers. At the church, this team helped prepare worship services, shared testimonies and Bible lessons, taught Sunday School and prepared English lessons for young adults and teenagers. Additionally, there were many opportunities to encourage the Turkish youth and adults at times of worship and prayer, as well as to invite unbelievers to times of recreation, such as rafting, beach volleyball, cultural exchange programs and other fun excursions as a way to connect them with the local church.
