Quis est, quod ibi homo vult dolere luctuosa et tragica, quae tamen pati ipse nollet.

Summer 1995

Olooseos, Kenya
A group of missionaries returned to Olooseos, the sight of IMPACT's first trip in 1993, to work with the Maasai Christian Youth Fellowship (MCYF)...this time helping the community put a roof on their new church. A month was spent building, sealing, lifting, and securing huge trusses and nailing mbati (steel roofing) in place. When not working, team members were able to visit and interact with people throughout the area. One of the high points of the trip was a soccer match between the MCYF and IMPACT and the local secondary school team.

Rotaryville, Philippines
The IMPACT team traveled to Rotaryville, outside of Metro-Manila, to work with Habitat for Humanity in helping the community construct cinder-block homes. The team spent the days working in sweltering conditions and spent the evenings enjoying the hospitality and joy of their new-found friends. Team members were truly touched by the love and graciousness of those they had come to serve and learned that sometimes serving the Lord means allowing others to serve you.
