Quis est, quod ibi homo vult dolere luctuosa et tragica, quae tamen pati ipse nollet.

Summer 1997

Olosho-oibor, Kenya
Twelve missionaries traveled to Camp Mwamba (which means rock), located in the Rift Valley about an hour outside of Nairobi. They partnered with the Maasai Christian Youth Fellowship to proclaim the Gospel to the surrounding bomas (villages) and continue construction on this camp, which brings together youth from many different tribes and social conditions to learn about Jesus Christ. Though it was a challenging trip the team was able to experience the presence of the Holy Spirit through evangelism and learn about God's presence in Kenya.

Topsville, Philippines
A team of eight missionaries spent two weeks in the Philippines working with Habitat for Humanity to build houses for the poorest of the poor in Manila. The IMPACT team was the first missionary group to join Habitat in this community. In addition to construction the team was able to visit Chosen Children, a place for the care of disabled children. IMPACT and the community joined together for morning devotionals and worship time as well as evening games and celebrations. The IMPACT missionaries sweated lots of hours of hard work, learned to be served as well as serve, and saw God at work in the Philippines.
